We source fruit from low cropping descendant and old vines, open ferment using whole berries, hand plunge, basket press then age in seasoned American and French oak for 18 months. Longhop is a very Australian sounding name and we have made a very Australian type of wine. Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, this was made from vines planted in the 1950s, which as fate would have it, escaped the vine pull scheme of the '80s.Very low cropping and picked ripe, full of flavour and only 160 dozen produced. The end result is a deeply concentrated, complex, flavoursome wine to cellar for up to a decade and like most things Australian, will only get better with age.This is RESERVE quality, this is LONGHOP
